Umbria Immersion with Yale Educational Travel
/Teamed up with Yale Educational Travel, Conley & Silvers created a month long immersion program in Umbria this summer. Thirty strong, we enjoyed living in ancient Amelia, a charming hill town with gracious and welcoming citizens. We enjoyed day trips and weekend excursions throughout the region. Our rich program included private concerts, educational tours, a book club, Italian Film screenings and lessons of all types including Italian cooking, Italian language, Art History & Architecture, Italian film, Tuscan and Umbrian wine appreciation, pecorino cheese making, glass jewelry making, yoga, painting, fresco making, hiking, and lectures on Italian History and Politics by Professors Harvey Goldblatt and Adam Tooze.
Champagne 2016
/A sublime scouting trip to Champagne to prepare for 2017 Soirée. With Lionel and Dominique Michelin, I visited the big names in Champagne as well as some of the boutique houses. We had a mind bending tasting at the incomparable Selosse, where everything is art even down to the mold on the cellar walls. The expansive chalk cellars are deeply impressive and stretch for miles underground, some still engraved with graffiti from the soldiers and resistance who took shelter here during the World Wars. I cannot wait to return here with guests in May and share the discoveries.
